Gwen Hanson
OTR, CEO
Gwen Hanson is the owner of The SMART Institute, and a graduate of Texas Women’s University. Gwen specializes in adult neurological disorders using NDT and also proficiently serves clients with vertigo and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Acupuncture & micro-stem therapy are some of the many techniques that Gwen uses.
Jennifer Snook
PT, MPT, Cert LVST
Jennifer attended UT Southwestern and has 10+ years experience in multiple settings including: hospital-based outpatient, OP, and home health settings. She is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life.
Angela Trevino
PTA
Graduate of Weatherford College with A.A.S for Physical Therapist Assistant, Angela found her passion for helping others at a young age. Her experience includes Memory Care Director, massage therapy, CNA, medication aide, and proud mother of one son.
Jennifer Sawyer

Jennifer is the first face that you will see at The Smart Institute. It doesn’t matter if it’s storming outside or the sun is shining, Jennifer will greet you with a smile on her face and a warm laugh. Jennifer does a great job of making your visit as pleasant as possible.
Yesenia Revilla
Tech
Yesenia has over 10+ years experience in multiple settings such as: acute, OP and private practice as a tech and medical assistant. Through diet and exercise Yesenia provides a positive influence to patients and her family for living a healthy lifestyle.
Carola Botzer
Tech
Carola moved to Texas in 1986 from Germany where she was licensed as a Physical Therapist from 1979 – 1986. Carola has over 30+ years of experience and is dedicated to helping others. She enjoys square dancing, being a mother, volunteering at church, and being outdoors.
Penelope
Office Mascot
Penelope spends most of her day sleeping, we mean – uh, supervising in the office, but occasionally she’ll visit patients in therapy, bringing joy to all that witness her trot through the halls. Her strengths include quality assurance and giving sweet kisses.
